Ho Chi Minh was president of China and died of a heart failure in 1969. He founded the Indochinese Communist Party and helped South Vietnam gain independence.

In 1968 he won the presidential election and became president after Johnson. He resigned in 1972 because an impeachment process over the Watergate scandal.

In June 1973 a group called CREEP, an organization responsible for the reelection of President Nixon broke into the Democrats headquarters. The burglars were caught and traced back to the White House and caused Nixon to resign from presidency.

This is a style of music that originated in the late 70’s by teenagers who wanted to protest against modern society. The main instruments used were electric guitars and drums, and they wore leather jackets, earrings, strange haircuts and colors, and jeans with holes.

On September 21, 1970 Arab extremists, called the PLO destroyed three airplanes. The terrorists held about 300 hostages. They used the 40 hostages to make a political bargain to free Arab terrorists imprisoned in Israel and elsewhere.

Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini was one of the most famous imamitic lawyers of the 20th century. He began a holy war with Iran. In 1979 Khomeini’s men conquered the US embassy in Theheran. Khomeini died on June 3, 1989.

In 1978 Noor Taraki tried to create a Marxist state in Afghanistan with Soviet aid. The Soviet invasion was met with resistance from the Muslim disagreement and from the Afghan public. The conflict resulted in a war.
