After several weeks of learning about the 13 Colonies, Fifth graders had the opportunity to participate in some of their own colonial activities. Students experienced how to sew on a button by hand, write letters with a quill, create some simple pioneer toys (whirligigs and ball in cup games!), build wooden structures, and make homemade butter!

This week the elementary have been celebrating "Read Across America Week". Each day there have been dress up days and today was Wacky Wednesday and there were definitely some wacky outfits!! They also all played bingo together for a group activity. To finish up the week, tomorrow is is College/Career Day and Friday is Mad Scientist Day which will include some fun science presentations!

25 students from Kimball School in grades 4-6 are part of the SD Music Educators Association Music Festival today in Mitchell. And Kimball's Mrs. Rebecca Rasmussen is the Guest Conductor! They are spending the day practicing with students from other area schools and will perform a concert at 4pm today at the Mitchell Performing Arts Center.
