On what turned out to be a beautiful day in a field of tough competitors, the KWL Girls had a great showing at the state XC meet and are coming home with a 6th place Class B team finish! Additionally, Alli McCord captured 11th place in a season best performance to earn All-State honors.
Every single runner gave everything they had today, and we could not be more proud of our WiLdKats on their incredible season!

H.S. Juniors: It’s Time to Apply for Youth Tour!
Each year, Central Electric Cooperative offers high school juniors a chance to apply for the Youth Tour trip to Washington, D.C. The educational journey, hosted by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA), takes place June 17-23, 2027. On the trip, students will learn about government, cooperative philosophy and rural electrification in our nation’s capital. Tour highlights include the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, U.S. Capitol and Arlington National Cemetery. Students will also take a river boat cruise across the Potomac River.
Applicants must be high school juniors during the 2026-2027 school year who permanently reside in Aurora, Brule, Buffalo, Davison, Hanson, Jerauld, Miner or Sanborn County. Each application should include a letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach, 4-H advisor or an adult that is not a family member. Juniors selected as Youth Tour delegates must obtain signed parental consent from both parents or legal guardians.
