Some of the Kimball FFA Livestock Judgers are attending the SDSU livestock judging camp to sharpen their knowledge and skills this week in Brookings.

We invite you to Main Street on Sunday morning to send off KWL Golf to the State Meet in Brookings at 10am!
In addition to the tech house auction on Monday, June 1, there are some items made by tech students to be auctioned. Items included are 2 adirondack chairs, 2 mini wood stoves and an end table. We look forward to seeing you Monday night! Viewing begins at 5pm with auction to begin at 6:30pm.




Kimball School was represented well this spring for JH Rodeo. Participants were: Kamden Hamiel, Ava Heezen, Josie Hamiel, Kendall Gillen and Jonah Heezen. Kendall Gillen and Josie Hamiel have earned spots on the National Team, which is held in Guthrie, Oklahoma in late June. Kendall will participate in barrels and Josie in poles. Good luck!

The South Dakota Music Educators Association hosts an Elementary Honor Choir in conjunction with the High School All-State Chorus & Orchestra. 4th & 5th grade students send in their audition for the opportunity to sing at the Honor Choir, which will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at The Monument in Rapid City. Kimball School is proud to announce that Tyson Von Eye, Maya De Jong, Chasen Walsh, Allie Krier, and Presley Goodall have all been selected to participate! Congratulations!

LifeServe Blood Center honors high school students who demonstrate a commitment to saving lives! To become a Donor of Distinction the student must register to donate blood three times before graduation. For those not eligible to donate, red cord honors are available to students who host a scholarship blood drive or ask three people to give blood in place of them.
Donors of Distinction receive the following: special honor cords to wear at graduation, a Certificate of Achievement and a Letter of Accomplishment from LifeServe Blood Center President. Congrats, Senior Donors of Distinction!
Charlee Bass was awarded the LifeServe Scholarship for $500. Because of the success of the 2 blood drives this past year this money was made available to one of the students that helped make it a success.

Kiote Day begins tomorrow morning at 8:30 at the Houda Athletic Complex and ends at 11:30am. Pictured are the groups that students are in, their rotation times, and a map. Today our students will be eating fresh grilled burgers from our Farm to School Program! Thank you Midstate Communications for the use of your grill. Congratulations to the April Elementary Students of the Month: Berhyt Korzan, Myra Cummins, Watson Blasius, Jasper Larson, Ryker Wieting, Axl Dargatz, Chaos Blasius, Caleb Palmer, Graham Gillen, Roxi Surat, Jimmy Soulek, and Raelynn Rasmussen. The character trait was Sportsmanship: fairness, respect, self-control, supportiveness, gracious when you win or lose.

The public is welcome to attend the 5th Grade Wax Museum on Tuesday, May 5 from 10am-11am in the Kanyon. Feel free to stop by and see these kids in character! From history to music to sports... you never know who might be there to educate you about their life!
The Kimball FFA Chapter attended the 98th South Dakota State FFA Convention, April 20-22 in Brookings. The members competed in Ag Business Management, Ag Mechanics, Agronomy, Dairy Cattle Evaluation, Floriculture, Horse Evaluation, Milky Quality, Poultry Evaluation, Meats Evaluation, Natural Resources, Nursery and Landscape and Farm Safety Quiz Bowl. Those placing in the top 20 include 6th Place Floriculture Rayna Chelmo, 10th Poultry Evaluation Addison Braun, Nursery Landscape 8th Place Vincent Lenz, 10th Rhys Truman, and 17th Carter Konechne. 4th Place Team Nursery Landscape (Vincent Lenz, Rhys Truman, Carter Konechne, and Synch Ness). Gavin Reindl received the Washington Leadership Conference Scholarship from the SD FFA Foundation. He and Mrs. Walsh will travel to Washington DC in July. Madi Von Eye received a Post Secondary Agriculture Education Scholarship. The members also attended sessions, toured the Dairy Processing, met with vendors at the Career Carnival, helped pack over 71,000 Meals of Hope and attended the FFA Dance.
